Sonata Arctica

There must be a topic about the kings (ok, maybe not all of you consider them kings, but for me they are the best , no offence, guys, I still love you ) here!
Noticed that in the game someone (sorry I don't remember the nick, I'll need some time to learn who is who here...) mentioned them, also Altaria, which are a side project of their guitarist Jani Liimatainen, so probably you've heard them or, even better, you like them.
I hope we can form a good discussion about them here, since I am keen on knowing what others think about their music.

We know them and I really like them! Altaria is a really band, but it WAS Jani's Side Project, he left the band and play with them only sometimes ^^

in the official page there ara now a link to the most of the songs of the album..... y played the firt one...but.... NOOO . I dont want to listen it before buying Unia......ooooh... I need to buy it and get closed in my bedroom, in the darkness...and listen it with my headphones. what a weird fan of SA I am....

Unia is something completely different from what we've heard so far from Sonata, definetely. You may not like it... I didn't like it the first time I heard it, but then it sounded.. tempting, then good, then veeery good and now it seems to be on second place after Silence and Winterheart's Guild. I have an illegal copy of the album, cause I could not wait for the official release, but I'll buy it when it gets out.

Btw, the vid for Paid in Full is NOT what I expected... it seemed so... ordinary. Reminded me in a way of the DSAW video, which I don't like at all.

At the begining, I was not a big fan of Unia... But now I really love it!!! The melodies are very amazing and I find there is sometimes a relation with some other kinds of rock and metal. I find there is a big relation with Queen, with a lot of variations in the music, a lot of Opera, and a relation with progressive metal like Dream Theater, with new musical effects... But it still keep a "Sonata Arctica's Soul" Very Happy

but.....in my way of see the things, DSAW looked me a great video!!!! (there was not chance to the hOrRibLe and borring clip os Wolf and Raven XD)
and Paid in full looked to me a very good video too, .....not too much special....but good for me Very Happy
